Occupied Home Staged:
This project was an occupied home. The homeowner was in the process of having painting done when I first toured the home. I made some suggestions regarding the paint and I consulted with the painter and was able to work with him to stretch the homeowner's budget to achieve the best effect. I instructed the homeowner on what furniture items to remove from the home and what to keep. I had him move the existing living room furniture into the family room to replace some worn pieces that were in there. I had him move the less worn loveseat from the family room to the living room. I then added 2 side chairs, a coffee table, side tables, artwork and accents to finish the space. In order to incorporate the bright red dining chairs that the homeowner had, I added a splash of red artwork in the adjoining living room. I neutralized the red a bit by dressing the table in crisp white and gray lines, with silver and white place settings. I added new sheers and drapes in several rooms to help brighten the space. The sun room was full of large plants. I rearranged them so create a comfortable reading/lounge area. In the master bedroom I simply de-cluttered, hung new drapes, added throw pillows to the existing bedding and art above the bed. Voila! The homeowner loved the results and asked if I'd help him design his future home's interior for him!
